This must-have publication includes 25 detailed, easy-to-read maps, and offers the person interested in Jamaica, guides and activities, restaurants, beaches, spas, food and a potpourri of island culture.

Moon Jamaica is Hill’s “best effort to share all things I love about the island and inform readers about the best way to experience them”.

No idle boast. The book, issued in glossy paperback, is divided up into regional sections as follows: Discover Jamaica, Kingston, The Blue Mountains, Port Antonio and East Coast, Ocho Rios and the Central North Coast, Montego Bay and the Northwest, Negril and the West, Mandeville and the South Coast. For brawta, there is also a Background section, which informs about the government and economy, the land, tourism, the people, the arts, among other things. A stand-out feature is the care given by Hill to quoting prices, giving contact names, telephone numbers and website addresses. Useful information is readily at the fingertips.

This updated version of Moon Jamaica, rich in valuable resources on this fascinating island from unique perspective of Hill, a self-proclaimed lifelong reggae fan, is an essential addition to every travel lover’s bookshelf.

He’s back! Following the tremendous success of Roving with Lalah: Slices of Everyday Jamaican Life (2008), Robert Lalah is back with the newly released Roving With Lalah: More Slices of Everyday Jamaican Life.

If you thought the first Roving with Lalah was funny, you will love this latest edition. Following on the continuing success of the weekly Gleaner newspaper column by the same name, roving reporter Robert Lalah continues his journey around Jamaica revelling in the sights, sounds, scenery and people of this beautiful Caribbean island. From a chat with Mama Marley to drama in the Chinese Restaurant and the not so comfy street dance, Lalah’s narrative charm in each of the stories imparts Jamaican facts and fiction, myths and legends, and keeps readers coming back for more. Lalah shares an authentic feel for the island as only a Jamaican could. Uproariously witty and near riotous in his descriptions of some notable and some not so well known places in Jamaica, Roving with Lalah will leave you longing for a visit to the enigmatic island that was home to Bob and still is to Bolt.

This book is available on Amazon.

Caribbean literature has always been exciting and diverse, including over the past decades some of the world’s most highly regarded writers. Beyond Sangre Grande brings together a contemporary selection in English from some of the key writers living in Canada, the US, and the UK, as well as various countries of the Caribbean.

Reflecting a changing world, and admitting diverse cultural influences and generational differences, these writers maintain a distinct Caribbean-ness in their acute historical awareness and in the cadences and rhythms of their language. This collection represents a range of voices, from the established and celebrated—Derek Walcott, Sam Selvon, Austin Clarke, Olive Senior—to the newer and no less exciting—Ramabai Espinet, Nalo Hopkinson, Anson Gonzalez—that demonstrates the richness of Caribbean literature in new and exciting ways.
