Virginia Burke will be performing cooking demonstrations from her cookbook “Eat Caribbean” (Simon & Schuster UK) at Bookland New Kingston, 53 Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston 5, on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. This event is one for the family, and is not to be missed. The recipes highlighted will be easy and family friendly.
Virginia is the author of two cookbooks, “Eat Caribbean” and “Walkerswood Caribbean Kitchen”, both published by Simon & Schuster UK. “Eat Caribbean” takes readers on a voyage around the islands of the Caribbean with a wide-ranging collection of 100 recipes, from classic to contemporary and beach to banquet, as well as exquisite location photographs and personal anecdotes. “Walkerswood Caribbean Kitchen” is a compilation of traditional and non-traditional recipes found throughout Jamaica, featuring recipes using the popular Walkerswood brand of seasonings, sauces and spices. The books have been translated into Dutch, French and German.

Virginia studied graphics in Los Angeles and fine art in New York, then lived in London, New York and Hawaii, before returning to Jamaica to aid Walkerswood in its mission to provide the rural community with employment opportunities.
