Jamaican brother and sister duo, Andrew and Phillipa Davies, invite the public to the launch of their respective works, tomorrow, July 29, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. at Assembly Hall, St. Andrew High School (10 Cecelio Avenue, Kingston 10).
Andrew Davies has produced a book of animated children’s Anancy stories on DVD, narrated by Joan Andrea Hutchinson. The DVD is accompanied by a colouring and activity book.
His sister Phillipa meanwhile, has written a travel memoir – Travel Light: Memories of a Covenant Journey – which recounts highlights of her experiences with the international theatre company, Covenant Players.
Andrew is currently the lead creative juicer at Paragon Design Group, a multimedia firm that’s based in Savannah, Georgia, USA, while Phillipa is presently the Copyright & Related Rights Manager at the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO).
Tomorrow’s book launch event will feature two guest speakers: (1) Burchell Whiteman – former Jamaican High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (2) Lilieth Nelson – science educator and performing artist.
