The Village Curtain: A Jamaica Collection, first time author Tony Tame’s novel-in-stories about a coastal fishing community in Jamaica, will be launched at Bookophiliar, 92 Hope Road, Kingston 6, on Friday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m.
In these stories, Tame, himself a local fisherman, presents the contradiction between what might appear on the surface to be an idyllic and picturesque life, and the actual struggles which fishermen and their families must experience on a daily basis for survival.
